“ Me and my boyfriend stopped by Fuji Japanese restaurant for the first time recently for dinner and loved it! We started our meal with an order of the crab cream cheese. These were a wonderful take on crab rangoon. They were fresh and crispy but had a soft cheese crab center with sauces on top. It made for the perfect bite with the mixture of flavors and textures. I ordered the hibachi shrimp and chicken combo for my meal so it came with salad and soup. Both were pretty standard but good! The order came with fried rice or white rice and I opted for fried. I really loved the flavor of the rice and would eat it on its own. The shrimp and chicken were cooked nicely and had good flavor. It was a large portion of everything. My boyfriend really liked his sushi as well! ”

“ The sushi here is still amazing as ever! I always get the crunch salmon roll and have been for years. I try to switch it up but this sushi is home for me lol I did end up trying the gyoza soup however and I loved that as well. The broth was very rich and had a subtle sesame oil flavor added to it which was the perfect touch. I could eat those dumplings with everything. Would love to place a bulk order of dumplings to freeze at home and eat with everything like my homemade ramen lol I also tried the crispy scallops and that was interesting. It was good but I'm not obsessed like I am with the other dishes. The service here is always good and fast and the restaurant is always kept clean. ”

“ It was my first time eating here. I've passed by several times, but just never made it inside. Man am I glad I finally did. Went with a few friends, so we had a group of 4 and were seated immediately around 5pm. The menu was sort of intimidating since it was so extensive. I had the steak hibachi. It was cooked to perfection and had lots of veggies. I did fried rice and it was also delicious! I'm allergic to everything from the sea, it's something that just popped up later in life. So I was super stoked to see that the had sushi that only had veggies. I had the avacado cucumber rolls and added cream cheese with spicy mayo on the side. It was sooooo good! I could have had another order of that and made it a meal. The inside of the building is super cute and the servers were all friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive. I will definitely be going back! ”

“ I wish this place was closer to my house. The spicy tuna roll is top notch!! Perfectly seasoned, tightly rolled, and sliced into bite size pieces. Salad is also better than other sushi places. It has fresh lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, and the BEST homemade ginger carrot salad dressing. One tip -- this is Fuji on Pisgah Church. There is another Fuji on Market Street that is not good. Be sure you are going to the right one --on Pisgah Church. ”

“ Parking is a little tight in this part of the shopping center during busy times. If necessary, you can park in the bigger Harris Teeter lot. This restaurant is small, so I think they do more take out. It has a very dark and moody ambiance to it. The waitress was very attentive. The menu is about 6 pages. It was lunch time so my friend and I just stuck to the lunch menu. We picked the lunch sushi special, which was your choice of two sushi rolls and soup or salad. I chose a salad with ginger dressing to start. It was a modest salad, but a good starter for the sushi rolls. I picked the California roll and Spicy Crab roll. I liked the Spicy crab roll the most. It had a nice crunch in some of my bites. The flavor was good. In my next visit, I would like to try their hibachi dishes. Ladies, I did go to the bathroom. At first, I thought I forgot to turn on the light, but realized the bathroom is extremely dark. Dark walls, toilet is literally the color black and the sink was dark. I felt like I was trying to find my way through the darkness. I like this place. It is simple and tasty. ”

“ The chicken teriyaki is delicious (eaten recently), and I've also had the chicken Katsu, which is good, but I wish they served pork Katsu, which is the more traditional Japanese dish. I was there to carry out, but I was there long enough to see that service is very friendly, especially at the bar. Fuji's fried rice is SO GOOD. I asked them to add a fried egg to it and that made the rice so delicious to me. at home I put it under the broiler so that it gets extra crispy and places. Yum. ”
